Springs Academy provides alternative or therapeutic education for school-aged children that are having trouble learning in a traditional classroom setting.  These students are recommended by school principals, assistant principals, school counselors and teachers. The goal is to provide these students with skills that will help them succeed when they transfer back into a traditional school.

"I was extremely apprehensive about my son's move to Springs Academy. Within the first two weeks, I felt right at home. For the first time, I felt like
I wasn't doing this alone. Everybody at the school truly cares about kids. They constantly asked if they could help."
Lynn Ginn, parent

Each classroom is staffed by a teacher and a behavior technician. The teacher focuses on academics while the behavior technician focuses on behavior and social skills.  Both teacher and behavior technician work together to create individualized plans that are tailored to each student's behavior and academic needs.  Activities are aimed at strengthening the interpersonal and self-management skills that will make returning to a traditional classroom setting or securing employment a possibility.

Springs Academy operates using the Teaching-Family Model, which has demonstrated effectiveness in reducing problem behavior while instilling social skills.  The program operates during normal school hours.  Summer programs are also available.
