Volunteer

Would you like to volunteer for Barium Springs but don't know how? We have a variety of ways to volunteer and help the children and families of NC. It is a rewarding experience and helps out in so many ways!  Download a volunteer info flyer to share with friends.

Volunteering as an individual

• Office Work:  filing and other special projects in the administration office. To find out more, email Lorie at lfees@bariumsprings.org.
• "First Friday" Reading & Playtime:  You are invited to read to a preschool child on campus as part of our Reading and Playtime Program.  This program is offered on the first Friday of every month at 10:00 am. to sign up, email Lorie at lfees@bariumsprings.org.  (Because of privacy laws and the confidential nature of what we do, volunteer contact with children is very limited.)

Volunteering as a group

• Groundskeeping : weeding, cleaning grounds, and landscapting projects.  We need supplies and labor for various grounds projects on campus.  To find out more, email Tamara at tjohnson@bariumsprings.org.
• General Cleaning:  various buildings are in need of dusting, window cleaning, floor cleaning and more.  Tight budgets this year have forced us to cut back on spending in many areas.  To find out more, email Tamara at tjohnson@bariumsprings.org.
• Wash Fleet Vehicles:  groups needed to wash exterior and clean interior of large vans, mini vans and agency cares used to transport our children.  Supplies as well as labor are needed for this project.  To find out more, email Tamara at tjohnson@bariumsprings.org.

Organize a Supply Drive

Organize a collection drive for paper products or hygiene items for our group homes, snacks and juice boxes for our sc hool, book drive for our preschoolers, or movie night items for children living on our campus.  To find out more, email Lorie at lfees@bariumsprings.org.

Host a Benefit

Suggest your office, business or organization host a party to benefit the children at Barium Springs.  This is especially great for holiday parties.  One of our staff will attend, speak and/or bring Barium Springs materials for display.  for more information, email Tamara at tjohnson@bariumsprings.org.

Organize a Fundraiser

Whether its a community garage sale, spaghetti dinner, golf tournament, car wash or bake sale, you group can help make a real difference by raising money for our children.  we have three fundraising programs:  1) Furnish a Classroom Program, 2) Sponsor a Ride to School Program, 3) Feed a Child Program.  For more information, email Lorie at lfees@bariumsprings.org.
